Traveller Health Advisory Committee
The Traveller Health Advisory Committee (THAC) was established in 1998. It consists of Department of Health and Children staff, members of the Health Service Executive (HSE) and representatives of Traveller organisations. The THAC advises the Minister for Health and Children on policy in relation to health services for Travellers. The work of THAC was crucial to the preparation of “Traveller Health - A National Strategy 2002-2005”. This is the Strategy which provides the basis for current policy.
