Steering Committee for Insurance Scheme for Persons with Hepatitis C (State Acquired)
Primary legislation was enacted in 2006 to allow for the establishment of an insurance support scheme for persons who have been infected with Hepatitis C and HIV through the administration within the State of infected blood and blood products. A Steering Committee was established to advise on all aspects of the implementation of the insurance scheme within the limits set out in legislation. The Committee is chaired by Blood Policy Division and includes representatives from all the support groups.
