Standing Committee on Health Statistics
The Department of Health and Children (DoHC) and the Central Statistics Office (CSO) have close bilateral working relationships across a number of areas of statistics. The Central Statistics Office also consults with a range of health agencies in relation to specific data collections and information needs. The Department is itself both a major user of CSO statistics as well as a data provider. While co-operation between the two organisations and across the health sector is close, a Standing Committee on Health Statistics has been established to provide a more formal forum to discuss mutual areas of interest, to effect required improvements and to evaluate progress across the area of health statistics.
