Healthy Ireland

Healthy Ireland is a new national framework for action to improve the health and wellbeing of our country over the coming generation. It reflects the international experience of a new commitment to public health with a focus on prevention.

Healthy Ireland takes a “whole of Government” and “whole of society” approach to improving health and wellbeing.

Vision

A Healthy Ireland, where everyone can enjoy physical and mental health and wellbeing to their full potential, where wellbeing is valued and supported at every level of society and is everyone’s responsibility

On 21 October 2013, a three year, all island campaign by safefood in partnership with the HSE and Healthy Ireland was launched to remind parents about the negative health impacts of excess weight in childhood and how this can impact on a child’s quality of life.
