Taking place during the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, eHealth Week comprises of two main events, the High Level eHealth Conference co-organised by the European Commission and the Irish Department of Health and the WoHIT (World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition) organised by HIMSS Europe.

eHealth Week is a 3-day event, taking place from 13th - 15th May 2013 in the Convention Centre Dublin. The large scale annual conference is run in conjunction with each EU Presidency host country. Over 2,500 international delegates and 100 exhibitors are expected to attend, drawn mainly from the EU and North America. The event will welcome global decision makers from public and private healthcare sectors, clinicians, hospital and IT managers and VIP guests. eHealth Week 2013 will provide the opportunity to further promote innovation in health through the Digital Agenda, both at EU and national levels as well as further afield. A new addition will be the EU-US eHealth Marketplace , a matchmaking event designed to encourage collaboration between European and US companies, health providers and other stakeholders involving the European Connected Health Alliance

For the official eHealth Week Opening Plenary, we are honoured to have the presence of Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, Dr. Tonio Borg, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy

Therese Murray, Senate President, State of Massachusetts, USA will be one of the Presidency keynote speakers. Dr Theresa Cullen, Director of Health Informatics at Veterans Affairs, USA will address delegates at the Tuesday plenary session.

In addition to providing a showcase and networking opportunities for the Irish ICT, pharmaceuticals and medical devices industry, the event will incorporate a number of workshops and industry focused activities.

The range of sessions will include:

eHealth Week 2013 will also see the second edition of the EU SME eHealth Competition, an initiative that rewards the best eHealth solutions produced by European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Winners of the competition will be announced at the opening plenary on Monday, 13th May.
