Functions:
  • To provide strategic direction and leadership in the ongoing provision and development of community pharmacy and reforms to the community drugs schemes:
    (i) Development of strong legal and other governance and accountability arrangements for the GMS and community drugs schemes;
    (ii) Updating and modernisation of the legislative framework for the pharmacy profession through the roll out of the provisions of the Pharmacy Act 2007, including training and regulatory issues;
    (iii) Review drugs prescribing policy as it relates to general practice.
