- Support the commencement and implementation of the Health Act 2007 and work with units in the Department to develop HiQA in line with policy
- Provide support for the Commission on Patient Safety and Quality Assurance
- Monitor the Health Service Executive's response to healthcare acquired infections (HCAIs) including MRSA
- Work with the State Claims Agency and the HSE on issues arising out of claims relating to HCAIs under the Clinical Indemnity Scheme
