Submissons Sought

The Expert Group on Resource Allocation and Financing in the Health Sector was established by the Minister for Health and Children, Ms. Mary Harney TD, in April 2009 to examine how the existing system of resource allocation within the Irish public health service can be improved to support better the aims of the health reform programme. The Expert Group will report in April 2010.

The Minister has asked the Expert Group:

The Expert Group seeks the views of the public and relevant interested groups/parties on the issues within its remit. Submissions should focus on suggestions for change in the resource allocation system to enhance delivery of the core objectives of health reform. Particular emphasis should be placed on providing access to the care/treatment that people need as quickly as possible, with an emphasis also on equity of access, and ensuring this is done in a sustainable way. Submissions should be no more than ten pages in length.

The closing date for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Friday 19 June, 2009.
