Educated at Blackrock College, UCD, Kings Inns. Masters in Modern History. Barrister at Law. English and economics: Sutton Park, 1992-96, History: Bruce College, 1996-97. Barrister at Law 1997 – present.
Minister Barry Andrews was first elected Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, June 1999 (topping poll in Blackrock Ward). Member Dún Laoghaire VEC, Board member of Southside Partnership, Board of Governors, Royal Irish Academy of Music. Elected to Dáil Éireann in May 2002.
Re-elected to Dáil Éireann, May 2007. Appointed Minister of State with responsibility for Children and Youth Affairs, May 2008.
Minister Andrews was a secondary school teacher at Ballyfermot SC from 1991-92. He
is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committees
on European Affairs and Constitutional
Affairs and is the Chair of Joint Administrative Committee.
