Resource Allocation
Objective
The objective of this unit is to examine how the existing system of resource allocation within the Irish public health service could be improved in order to ensure that it supports the aims of the health reform programme. In this context it will also consider whether the achievement of the health reform objectives requires a change in the financing mechanism for the health sector.
Responsibilities
- The Expert Group on resource allocation and financing in the health sector announced by the Minister on 1 April 2009.
- Providing policy and administrative support to the Expert Group and to the Project Team which will support it.
- Ensuring the Expert Group reports to the Minister in April 2010.
